Spring Programs - BOYS

Spring 3-on-3 gives boys a chance to play pick-up games for fun!

Players should attend with indoor shoes please.
If your player has a basketball and a reversible jersey - please bring them to Spring programs!

Kanata Youth Basketball Association offers spring basketball programs after the conclusion of the regular season. Spring programs run during April, May and June, depending on the age division, in order to provide a 6-8 week program that runs 1 night per week.  The start of Spring sessions for any given age division are chosen to coincide with the end of our regular house league season for that age division.

Players register online for a specific program based on their birth year. There is a registration limit for each program based on the format and size of gym. If the age level of your child offers more than one weekly program, players can register for multiple weeknights - however, we request that you only register for a weeknight(s) where you expect your child will attend a majority of the sessions.

KYBA's Spring Programs for Boys include:
  • Spring 3-on-3 for Boys - Spring 3-on-3 gives boys a chance to play pick-up games for fun. Small-sided games create an opportunity for more touches, and the format allows for freedom and creativity. Players learn to call their own violations, teaching them how to participate in any pick-up game in an open gym or on a playground.
Other KYBA Spring Programs include:
  • Spring Tykes Basketball - Lessons and facilitated scrimmage for 5-7 year olds. See Spring Programs - TYKES webpage.
  • Spring Skills for Girls - Skills development through fun drills and scrimmage. See Spring Programs - GIRLS webpage.
We can only offer Spring programs with the help of our much appreciated volunteers!
Spring programs are much more informal, and so the volunteer role is much easier than for coaching in our regular house league season or competitive programs.  We use Gym Monitors to run Spring programs; which essentially involves being at the gym in a supervisory role for sessions to take attendance, divide players into teams and oversee activities.  Jumping in as a gym monitor allows you to help shape the program and KYBA can be flexible in scheduling to meet your availability.  We also welcome any high school students requiring volunteer hours to assist with Spring programs!
