KYBA is fortunate to have hundreds of volunteer coaches that make a difference in the lives of our youth each and every day, through sharing their knowledge and love of the game with their players!  We are proud to support our coaches, and help other coaches out there as well.  The following are some great coaching resources recommended by KYBA:

Practice Plans:
Where to start, well all good practices start with a plan.  Below you will find a few examples of practice plans that you might use.

Then you need to find different drills that will improve the players skills and confidence when playing.  By using the Steve Nash coaches manual below you can find examples of practice plans and drills to use.  Below that you have more links to other drills that can be used.

Steve Nash Coaches Manual 
  • The main objective of the Steve Nash Youth Basketball program is for the children to have fun, through the game of basketball, ‘measure success with smiles’.
  • Secondary objectives are:
    • To assist the children in the development of their fundamental movement skills: running, jumping, stopping, starting, catching and throwing.\
    •  To introduce fundamental basketball concepts in a fun inclusive environment.
