KYBA Selects Registration Fees 2023-2024: $125
The Selects fee is payable to KYBA via online registration for any players named to a Kanata Cavaliers Selects roster.  Only those players named to a Selects roster may complete a Selects registration.
In addition to the Selects registration fee, each Selects player will owe Team Fees to their team.  Selects team budgets are set to cover additional expenses such as tournament registrations, player development and team building.  Team fees are paid directly to the Team Manager/Treasuer and are dispersed by this person in trust.
Any monies remaining at the close of the season are to be returned in equal amounts to the parents.  Team Managers/Treasurers will be provided additional guidelines on setting Selects Team Budgets.  Selects Team Budgets are to be provided to their team and accepted at the outset of the season.  Team Managers/Treasurers are tasked with dispersing monies through the season to cover team expenses, while providing transparency on spending to all team families.

*Only house league players recommended for Selects and subsequently named to a roster can register for this Program*

Ottawa Next Level Competitive Registration Fees 2023-2024: $575

The Competitive fees listed above in the table include the registration fee for players who attended the tryouts (and paid the tryout fee) and were selected to play on a competitive team.   Only those players named to a roster can register for ONL.  Players needing assistance with the payment of fees should also speak with their head coach or the VP of Competitive before accepting a spot on the team.

*Only players who try out and are named to an ONL roster can complete a registration for this Program*

*Players can complete a house league registration, and later complete a top-up to ONL competitive registration to pay the difference in registration fee once named to a roster following tryouts.  This will secure a spot in house league should the player not be named to an ONL roster.

Ottawa Next Level Team Fees 2023-2024: ~average $500, but varies by team depending on planned activities.
In addition to registration fees paid to KYBA, ONL players will have Team fees to pay to their team as well.  Team fees average ~$400-$500 per team, but can be less or more, depending on the planned activities for the season.  Team fees are set by each team, based on a budget prepared by the Team Manager or Treasurer (in consultation with coaches), and communicated to the full team at the outset of the season.  Team fees cover tournament fees, referee fees for OBLE and exhibition games, team building activities, player devlepment opportunities, and any other expenses the team anticpates incurring.  Some coach expenses can be expected to be included in a team budget as well.  Teams will also carry out fundraising to offset team fees.

Team fee monies are held in trust by the Team Manager/Treasurer and dispersed on behalf of the players.  Team Managers/Treasurers are tasked with dispersing monies through the season to cover team expenses, while providing transparency on spending to all team families.  Any monies remaining at the close of the season are to be returned in equal amounts to the parents.  Team Managers/Treasurers will be provided additional guidelines on setting ONL Team Budgets.  Team budgets are also reviewed and accepted by our VP's ONL.  ONL Team Budgets are to be provided to their team and accepted at the outset of the season.

KYBA Subsidy Program

KYBA strives to ensure programming is affordable and remains accessible to all youth in our community.  Fees are set annually for each program to cover expenses associated with running the program - including facility costs, equipment costs, uniform costs, OBA and player insurance fees.  KYBA sets aside 4% of registration fees collected to assist those less fortunate in our community and to be able to provide the opportuntiy to play basketball to youth that would otherwise not have the opportuntiy due to financial constraints.  Families can apply for a subsidy at the time of registration by providing a completed application form and proof of income documentation to our Administrator.  To apply for a KYBA subsidy, please contact our Administrator.

KYBA's registration fees are recommended annually by the KYBA Executive to the membership as part of the season's budget approval at our AGM.  Fees are all set to offset the budgeted expenses for the season.
