My child is involved in multiple sports, how can I make sure that there are no conflicts?
The basketball season runs for many months. Conflicts will occur. However, during registration, you will be able to indicate 2 evenings that you are not available. This information will be used during the team creation and scheduling process to help prevent your conflicts.
When conflicts do arise during the season simply advise your team's coach so that they know in advance that you will not be there.

I have no basketball experience -  can I play in House League?
The KYBA's House League program is the basic and hence, most widely used program.  Absolutely no skills are required nor previous basketball experience in order to play in a House League team at any level.

Levels (Novice, Atom, Bantam, etc) depend only on age group, and are not related to skill level.

Divisional convenors will create balanced teams made up of roughly the same number of beginners as experienced players.  This also provides leadership opportunities to those more experienced players on a team.

I've registered my child for house league - what happens next?
Once registration is complete, players will next need to attend sort outs for their respective divisions.  Sort-outs take place between late September and mid-October.  You will receive an email from KYBA indicating sort-out times for your division.  This process is used to create balanced teams and assign coaches to teams. Once this is complete, the schedule will be created and practice times will be assigned to each team. Teams will have one practice per week that will run for either 1 hour or 1.5 hours depending on the division. In addition, there will be one game per week on Saturdays for all divisions, except Juvenile.  Games for the Juvenile division will take place on weeknights.  Depending on the number of teams, the Juvenile teams may play in a league with other clubs in the city - so some games may be hosted outside Kanata. The locations for all of these will be provided well in advance to help with your planning.  After Thanksgiving you will be notified by the coach of your team about the dates and locations of practices and games. If you do not receive the call from the coach or convenor by the end of the October, please contact either VP of House League or divisional convenor.
