Question: Is registration for 2013/2014 Season open? Can I register for the season 2013/2014?
Yes, the registration for 2013/2014 Season is still open and you can still register for House League or Small Ball program.
You can find more details about the registration here. Please check here the fees for this season
Currently, there is still space available at all levels (including SmallBall). However, in order to be sure that there is a space available for specific age group in House League, please contact appropriate divisional convenor. For contact information see House League program page.
If the KYBA is unable to offer the selected program, a player may withdraw with no financial penalty.
Any player may withdraw from the KYBA programs before the official start of the playing season on October 16, 2013 and receive a full refund of their registration fees (less administration fee of $10).
After October 16th, there is a fourteen (14) day grace period during which a player may withdraw and receive a full refund provided he / she has not practiced or played with his / her team. If the player has practiced or played with his / her team, then the registration fee will be refunded less the program fee for the player’s division (typically $15).
Once the 14-day grace period has expired, players withdrawing from KYBA programs will be refunded less the program fee for the player’s division (typically $15) and must return any team shirts and / or other equipment (e.g. basketball) received from the team. This charge is made regardless whether the player practiced or played with his / her team.
After twenty-eight (28) days from the official season start, players withdrawing from the KYBA programs will be refunded 50% of their registration fees until December 21, 2011. This charge is made regardless whether the player practiced or played with his / her team. The player may retain any team shirts and / or other equipment (e.g. basketball) received from the team.
All withdrawal requests requiring refunds must be submitted to the Registrar in writing on or before December 21, 2011. After that, no refunds will be issued regardless of the player’s participation with his / her team.
All notifications of withdrawal must be made in writing by the parent(s) or legal guardian to the KYBA Registrar. Written notifications may be by e-mail or physical mail. Withdrawals will be confirmed in writing by the Registrar. The Registrar will not act upon a withdrawal until written notice has been received.
Under special circumstances, verbal notification to the divisional convener will accepted when getting written notification to the Registrar before a deadline is not possible. However, the verbal notification must be followed up with a written notification as soon as possible. Verbal notification before a given deadline will be confirmed with the divisional convener and acceptance of that notification is at the discretion of the Registrar. Verbal notification to coaches will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Question:When do we get to know the schedule for House League teams?
After Thanksgiving you will be notified by the coach of your team about the dates and locations of practices and games. If you do not receive the call from the coach or convenor by the end of the October, please contact either VP of House League or divisional convenor.
Question: Tryouts and player evaluations for Competitive teams - Who?
Tryouts and player evaluation are for competitive only. Tryouts (skill evaluation) are used to select the KYBA's competitive teams. Evaluations are conducted by the coaching staff for each division. There are no tryouts for House League teams.
If you want to try for competitive team you should mark that on your registration form and show up at the first scheduled tryout. You might or might not be called by coach of the appropriate competitive team for the first tryout. If you opted for it you can just show up.
Please check the tryouts page for detailed schedule of competitive tryouts for all competitive teams for 2013/2014 season.
