Major Atom Girls Selects won gold medal at EOBA Div 2

EOBA Championship for Major Atom girls was hosted in Kemptville on weekend March 29-30th. 

KYBA was represented by Major Atom Girls Selects team (coached by Doris Belland) which was placed in EOBA Division 2 for Major Atom girls. 

KYBA Atom Girls Selects team started the championship tournament with two decisive wins - first against Arnprior by 41:26, and then against Ottawa South by 48:28. 

The last game was the gold medal game against Nepean Blue Devils #2 team. 

KYBA Atom Girls Selects played Blue Devils 3 times this year with overall score 1:3. However, last three games of these two teams were really close (one of them ending in overtime) so another exciting game was expected. 

KYBA Atom Girls Selects team entered the game determined to compete hard and to win the gold medal. They took the early lead in the game and never looked back. Great game by Kanata girls. It seems like they saved their best game for the end fo the saeson. KYBA Atom Girls Selects won the game with the score: 43:32 !

Considering the fact that this Kanata team was ranked top Division 3/bottom Division 2, winning division 2 at the end of the season is a great achievement for the team and the  coaches who did a great job with the girls.
