Michael Rider Little Cavaliers Tournament 2016 A Resounding Success! The Little Cavaliers Tournament began 7 years ago, as a means to offer a fun end of season tournament to our novice players.
It has become a year-end tradition for local clubs accross the region to end their season with this fun day-long event hosted by KYBA.
A couple of years ago the tournament was renamed the "Michael Rider Little Cavaliers Touranament" to honour long-standing volunteer of KYBA,
Michael Rider, who had passed on, but left a legacy behind and a direction that KYBA still proudly stands behind. That direction was to provide an opportunity for any youth wanting to play a sport, to be able to.
KYBA welcomes new players at all ages, providing all youth the opportunity to benefit from playing a team sport. Those benefits are far-reaching - from building self-confidence, learning about team work, and developing a love for an active lifestyle.
In it's 7th edition, the MRLCT introduced its own logo this year. Local clubs from accross the region continue to participate, and also enjoyed fun games of "bump" and skills competitions this year.
This fun tournament has no losers - everyone is a winner!
It's all about the love of the game! Little Hustler awards are given to a player each game by the opposing team coaches. This year's event was so large 2 schools were used to fill the schedule.
Michael Rider's wife and daughter were on hand for a special ceremony where the new tournament logo was unveiled.
We thank the Rider family for their continued support of KYBA as we strive to continue to honour Michael with this special annual event.
