wins the gold medal at
Major Atom Boys "A" Division at 19th Chris Paulin Memorial Tournament hosted by KYBA on Dec 7-9, 2012.
ONL U11 was seeded No2 in the Major Atom "A" bracket. The team played good basketball throughout round-robin phase and finished at the top of its pool with a perfect record 3-0 beating Nepean Blue Devils A, Ottawa Shooting Stars A and GCBA-2 Major Atom teams.
In the
semifinal game, ONL U11 played PBA Major Atom team. The game was decided in the first half of he game which ONL U11 ended with a huge lead 34:8. The PBA team played much better in the second half, but the game was out of reach.
The final score was
ONL U11 - PBA 50:30.
In the
Finals, ONL U11 met Nepean Blue Devils AA team, which was seeded No1 in Major Atom "A" bracket. This was the fourth time that these two teams played against each other since the start of the season and Nepean had a winning record 2:1.
The game was very close from the start to the very end, as expected. There was a lot of lead changes, hard work for each possession and every rebound.
ONL U11 players showed a lot of character in this very exciting game and deserved to win the game and the gold medal.

The boys had lots of fun, competed hard every game and carried themselves with true sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
